On November 14, four injured children from the Gaza Strip arrived in the USA for free medical care after suffering injuries in the Gaza Strip. 4-year-old Farah Abu Halima arrived in San Diego for extensive reconstructive surgery after being injured by an IDF phosphorus bomb on January 4th in which her mother and several of her relatives were killed. She is being accompanied by her grandmother, who lost her husband and several children in the attack. They are from Beit Lahya in northern Gaza.
15-year-old Mariam El Shafei from Beit Hanoun in Gaza lost her eye from an Israeli bomb and will have ophthalmic care in San Jose, CA.
12-year-old Mohanned Hammoudeh suffered a gunshot injury to his leg and returned to the Los Angeles Shriners for orthopedic care. He had surgery there two years ago and needed follow-up treatment.
6-year-old Hanadi Joma was born with congenital dislocation of her hips and was sent to the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas for orthopedic care, which was not available to her in the Gaza Strip. She is traveling with her mother. We are cooperating with KinderUSA to help arrange her housing and accommodations.
