Who
we are
The Abu Dhabi Chapter of the PCRF was founded in January 2006
by a diverse group of people committed to making a difference
to Arab children in need of life-saving medical care. Generally
speaking, these children arrive from areas where political,
economic and access limitations are a way of life.
Our Mission
The PCRF Abu Dhabi concentrates its efforts on sponsoring as
many children as possible and providing them with comprehensive
medical treatment. The Chapter also strives to enhance awareness
of its goals and achievements whilst continuing to maintain
an active network of doctors, host volunteers and families throughout
the region. This network of key individuals is critical to the
children who arrive to receive medical treatment in the UAE
and neighboring countries.
Charity Efforts
Recently, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan
Mubarak Al Nahayan and the cooperation of the UAE Red Crescent,
the PCRF Abu Dhabi coordinated two separate functions in Abu
Dhabi and Sharjah. Both events, which featured the Palestine-based
El Funoun Popular Dance Troupe, (www.el-funoun.org)
were met with overwhelming success. Founded in 1979, the dance
troupe from El Bireh, Palestine is widely recognized for its
role in reviving indigenous folklore dance and music.
All proceeds from these events were dedicated to covering the
transportation, living, and rehabilitation expenses of children
sent abroad for free specialized medical care.
