Southern California Chapter Holds Gala in Anaheim
On November 19, 2005, the PCRF-SC brought the Arab-American
community together at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel in Anaheim,
California to show our appreciation and gratitude for all
the work they do on behalf of our children in Palestine and
all over the Middle East. Two families were awarded for their
generosity and for opening their hearts and homes to countless
children. With us also were members of the medical community
who have donated their services to children.
Our theme, Healing Hands offered the 600 member audience the
opportunity to touch the lives of innocent children in need.
Our emphasis on children was enhanced by moving performances
by the International Children’s Choir, the Samar Birzeit
Society, Youth Dabhek Group, as well as Aida Al-Americani’s
singing tribute (Al-Jidar) to Palestinian children isolated
by the separation Wall. Dr. Mark Ray of Arkansas and Steve
Sosebee, President and CEO of the PCRF showed the audience
first h! and the devastating effects that the Wall had on
the children in urgent need of medical care. We were also
honored by the presence of Emmy-Award winning actor, Tony
Shalhoub who shared his experiences as an Arab-American and
the importance of giving back to our community.
We witnessed a community which was humbled to give of themselves
and impassioned and empowered to take our cause to their families,
their friends, and to their community.
