Egyptian Surgery Team Completes Cleft Mission to Jordan

This week, two pediatric surgeons from Mansoura Hospital in Egypt - Dr. Mohamed El Sherbiny and Dr. Tamer Wafa - completed their mission at Luzmila Hospital in Amman, Jordan. Dr. El Sherbiny has volunteered on two past surgery missions with the PCRF in Gaza, three in Lebanon, and two in Jordan. This is Dr. Wafa's first volunteer mission with the PCRF. The team provided twenty-five refugee children cleft lip and palate surgery, in cooperation with both Islamic Relief in Jordan and the US nonprofit The Smile Train. The PCRF is one of the leading NGOs in the world providing free cleft lip and palate reconstructive surgery on hundreds of children each year in the Middle East.
