Other Distributions
PCRF
Food Distributions continue in Northern Gaza
In late April, The PCRF continued its food distributions in
Gaza by giving out over 70 cases of food to poor families
in the Jabalia refugee camp and Zaitoon area. This is the
second food distribution to Gaza in the last month, the first
one went to Southern Gaza in late April.
Food
distribution in Southern Gaza for disabled children
In late March, early April, the
PCRF continued to respond to the crisis in Gaza facing poor
and disabled children by providing basic necessary food products
for at-risk persons. Dozens of families in the Rafah and Khan
Younis areas of Gaza received food packages from the PCRF.
Since early 2008, the PCRF has continued to provide food and
relief for the besieged population of Gaza, not only by providing
food and medicine, but also other forms of humanitarian aid,
such as surgery for children through foreign visiting missions,
providing first-aid training for children and rehabilitation,
as well as other forms of aid. In April, the PCRF is sending
several injured kids to the USA for free medical care that
is not available to them locally. Four children from Gaza
were sent in January for surgery in Dubai, the UAE.
Food
distribution reaches poor families in Gaza
In an attempt
to address the the dire needs of poor families in the Gaza
Strip, the PCRF held a distribution of food in both the Central
and Southern areas of Gaza. In the Central Gaza area, 40 boxes
of food were given out to 40 families, while 41 boxes were
given to 41 families in Southern Gaza. The boxes that were
given out contained various cans and boxes of essential food
items. Many poor families in Gaza have seen increasingly more
difficult times with the latest siege and closure, so the
PCRF has been trying to act as quickly as we can to help ease
this burdon.
Gaza
children have healthy party
In the middle of February, The
PCRF held a party for children in the Shujaeia
area of Gaza city to celebrate
both health and hygiene. Nearly 70 children around the age
of 5 attended the party/distribution. The children were given
party favors, snacks, and cake, but the most important prize
they received was the hygiene kit that was given to each child.
The point of the PCRF's distribution was to teach young children
in Gaza about general hygiene, while also making it fun.
Milk
distribution in besieged Northern Gaza
for disabled children
On February 5, the PCRF it's
third large milk distribution in the Gaza Strip since the
siege began. Working in the Dr. Haider Abdel Shafi clinic
of the Union of Palestinian Medical Relief Committees clinic
in Jebalya refugee camp, dozens of poor families with disabled
children received weeks worth of milk for their children.
This comes at a time when Gaza is under siege and nutritional
food for special needs children is scarce and expensive. This
is the third distribution in Gaza in the past two weeks, the
other being in the souther and central part of the Strip.
The milk was provided by the Latter Day Saints Charities out
of Utah. They also included school supplies, first aid kits
and toys for Gaza's children as well.
PCRF
helps teach important First Aid
skills to Gaza residents
Due
to the worsening health situation and the growing number of
injuries in the Gaza Strip, the PCRF decided that it was necessary
to provide classes in First Aid to help people be better prepared
for these difficult circumstances. The course, which was held
in Central Gaza, was sponsored by the PCRF and played host
to dozens of children and residents who were interested in
learning some tips in First Aid. All of the instructors for
the classes were trained volunteers from the area and all
of the First Aid kits that were used were donated by the PCRF.
The PCRF hopes to host several more class throughout the Gaza
Strip.
Homeless
refugee children in Lebanon
get PCRF support
On
January 21, PCRF board member Mr. Tayseer Barakat traveled
to northern Lebanon to provide clothing, blankets and shoes
for hundreds of displaced children from the Nahad el Barad
refugee camp. Responding to an urgent request from the Palestinians
in Badawi camp, who are housing still thousands of refugees
who fled the fighting in their camp last summer, the PCRF
and Mr. Barakat, through the generous support of the community
in Kuwait, provided children items needed to endure the cold
winter in Lebanon. Thousand of Palestinian children had their
homes destroyed last summer and still remain homeless in Lebanon,
suffering extreme hardship in daily life. The PCRF is responding
not only to the crisis facing children in Gaza, but also those
Palestinian children living in extreme conditions in Lebanon
as well.
Gaza
kids receive urgent aid from PCRF
On January 20, 2008, the PCRF
began to distribute free milk packets for 600 poor children
in the impoverished and besieged Rafah, Khan Younis, Bani
Suhaila and Abasan areas of southern Gaza. The packages contains
1500g of nutritional milk for the children, who are suffering
extreme hardship as a result of the Israeli closure of food
and fuel into Gaza. Southern Gaza is the poorest areas of
Palestine and children there make up more than 50% of the
population. The PCRF will continue to provide milk, food,
clothing and other humanitarian aid during the siege to poor
children in Gaza in the coming days. Both the Latter Day Saints
Charities from the USA and the UAE Red Crescent Society in
Abu Dhabi are partnering with the PCRF, who has an experience
and hard-working staff on the ground in Gaza, to respond to
the humanitarian crisis facing children in the coming days.
PCRF's
latest milk distribution goes to Nablus
On August 27th, 2007, The PCRF distributed
more powdered milk to poor, malnourished children in the West
Bank. This time the distribution took place in the villages
of Nasarya Aqrabanyah, Ain Shibli, Nasaryah, and Jeftlic,
where the people are extremely poor and many of them live
without electricity. 100 cases of powder milk were distributed
to these villages during the distribution. View

Milk
Distribution in Northern Gaza
On June 5, 2007, the PCRF held a free distribution of powder
milk for at-risk and malnourished children from Beit Hanoun,
Beit Lahya, Jebalya and Gaza City camps and slums. The PCRF
has been providing free milk for poor families in the besieged
Gaza Strip since the beginning of the uprising in 2000. This
is a result of the increased signs for malnutrition among
many of Gaza's children, brought on by the closure of the
Strip to economic activity.
PCRF's
powder milk distribution reaches
Southen Gaza children
In the second week of May 2007, the PCRF distributed powder
milk to needy children in the Southen Gaza towns of Rafah
and Khan Younis. This was the PCRF's third major distribution
to the Gaza Strip so far in 2007 with the last distribution
going to Central Gaza. During the southern distribution, over
150 bags of milk were given out to needy children throughout
the two towns. This was part of the PCRF's ongoing effort
to try tackle the malnourishment problem with children in
the West Bank and Gaza strip.
The
PCRF helps malnourished children in Central Gaza
In the beginning of May 2007, the PCRF
held a powder milk distribution for children who suffer from
malnutrition in Central Gaza. Poverty, unemployment, and closures
continue to effect the health and well-being of young children
in both the West Bank and Gaza. In an effort to help these
families in need, the PCRF distributed milk to over 150 children
in the Central Gaza camps of Maghazi, Nuseirat, Bureij, and
Deir Balah. The distribution was sponsored by the PCRF with
help from several local organizations.

PCRF helping refugees in Lebanon, Gaza
Since the Israeli attacks on civilian sites
in Gaza and Lebanon, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund
has been responding to the humanitarian crisis there by distributing
food and medicine, as well as clothing and other supplies
to refugees displaced from South Lebanon and also in the central
refugee camp district of Gaza, where Israeli attacks on Maghazi
refugee camp left dozens of civilians dead and injured. We
would like to thank all of our supporters who have enabled
us to respond to this terrible crisis by helping those who
are most in need. To help us more, please visit our web site,
where we are accepting donations for these refugees.

for malnourished children in the West Bank town of Jenin.
The distribution, which was in cooperation with the local
Community Raced Rehabiliation Program, provided over 120 cases

cerebral palsy. In an effort to reach more children, the milk
was distributed in several different locations such as the
Patient Friend Society, Alyamon Charitable Organization, Yabad

The
PCRF Relieves Burdon of Needy School Children in Gaza
At
the beginning of September, the PCRF responded to yet another
humanitarian crisis by donating school bags to needy children
whose home had been destroyed by the Israeli army in the Al
Moghraka area. The donation was just a small contribution
in order to show support for these children and their education.
The PCRF has been working hard to aid in the humanitarian
crisis that faces the Palestinian children, especially those
