This week, seven-year-old Raghad from the Khan Younis Refugee Camp in Gaza started walking for the first time in her life. The girl was sent by the PCRF to the Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC for double amputation surgery, as she had been born with congenital deformities of both lower legs. Raghad has been fitted with a new high-quality prosthesis and is walking on her own for the first time in her life. She will start to do longer physical therapy sessions to become comfortable with both of the prosthetics. The PCRF South Carolina chapter has been amazing in supporting Raghad and her mother through many appointments, and she was sent there through our #HealAChild campaign.
