Palestinian-American Surgeon Returns for 8th time to Gaza
On December 3, 2005, Dr. Imad Tabry, a cardiac surgeon from Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida traveled to Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip to perform a week of cardiac surgery. Dr. Imad first went to Palestine through the PCRF in Sept. 2000 and has gone back many times since. He is the only cardiac surgeon who has gone to Gaza to work since then, treating and saving the lives of hundreds of poor people.

Cardiac Surgeon Returns to Gaza for 7th time to save lives
On Sept. 2nd, 2005, Dr. Imad Tabry, a cardiac surgeon from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, returned to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City through the PCRF for his seventh humanitarian mission since the start of the Palestinian uprising in 2000. Dr. Tabry is the only adult cardiac surgeon who has been working on patients with heart disease in the Gaza Strip since the uprising began. "There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of people here who need cardiac care not currently available to them in Gaza," Dr. Tabry says. "It is my pleasure to be able to help these people during these very difficult days." Dr. Tabry operated on three patients a day during the week, including Friday, and finished on Sept. 11th.


American-Palestinian Surgeon Returns to Gaza to Save Lives
In mid-November, 2004, Dr. Imad Tabry, a cardiac surgeon from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, went to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City for 10 days of intensive open-heart surgery on sick patients in the Gaza Strip. This is Dr. Tabry's seventh mission to Gaza through the PCRF since the Intifada erupted and he has saved hundreds of lives there through his hard work and expert skills. There is currently no cardiac surgery program functioning in Gaza, though heart disease is the number one cause of mortality there.

American Cardiac Surgeon in Gaza for the sixth time
On April 23rd, 2004, Dr. Imad Tabry, an adult cardiac surgeon from the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida arrived in Gaza City for a week of open-heart surgery on patients with heart disease. Dr. Tabry is the only cardiac surgeon from outside who has been going to Gaza to do open-heart surgery on adult patients since the Intifada began. This is his sixth mission to Shifa since 2000, and he has saved the lives of over one hundred patients who otherwise would not get the care that they need. Dr. Tabry is on the governing board of the International Palestinian Cardiac Relief Organization, which is part of the PCRF.

American Cardiac Surgery Team Saves Lives in Gaza
On December 2nd, 2003 the first ever Ross Procedure at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City was done by Dr. Imad Tabry . The three-member American cardiac surgery team from Florida worked for the 5th time in three years to save the lives of patients in Palestine with heart disease. PCRF Sends Cardiac Surgery Team to Gaza
In April, 2003 a 5-member American cardiac surgery team, led by Dr. Imad Tabry, went to Gaza for a week of open-heart surgery on patients with heart disease at the Shifa government Hospital in Gaza City. This was the 5th mission by Dr. Tabry of Fort Lauderdale to Gaza through the PCRF since the uprising started in Sept. 2000. Also on the team were ICU nurses Mari Noel Weatherly and Mark Schweyerrn, also of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, perfusionist Yousef Rizak of Montreal and Amal Jubran of Harrisburg, PA. Mari Noel, Amal and Yousef have all worked with Dr. Tabry in the past.
