Belgian
Cardiac Mission, September, 2000 Two weeks before
the Aqsa Intifada erupted, the PCRF sent the fourth Belgian
mission to Ramallah Hospital to save the lives of sick babies
with congenital heart disease. For one week, the 11-member
team, led by Professor
Guido Van Nooten and including surgeon Dr. Katrien Francois
and Cardiologist Dr. Bert Suys and Professor Daniel de Wolf,
operated on and treated dozens of sick and dying babies who
otherwise would not get the care they needed. In addition
to going to Palestine through the PCRF, the same Belgian team
is treating Palestinian babies at the University of Gent Hospital.
