Doaa Ashwi
A 6-year-old Palestinian girl from Hebron, Doaa was burned in a gas heater explosion when she was 4.
One brother and one sister got killed, her parents were slightly burned from the resulting fire.
She came to San Diego on April 30, 2000 for treatment. Her surgery was performed free of charge
by Dr. Michael Peters at Mercy hospital on May 8th. Dr. Peters transplanted skin grafts from her
legs and groin to her outer eye and lip to give them more mobility.
