he PCRF has worked hard to provide many sick and injured Arab children in the Middle East with specialized medical care that is not available locally. The PCRF not only accomplishes this by sending teams of surgeons to treat children locally, but by also arranging cost-free treatment for them abroad. Since all of the treatment that the PCRF seeks for these needy children is free, we are constantly searching for doctors and hospitals to donate their time and services. The PCRF has been fortunate to be able to work with many excellent hospitals and institutions in the US, Europe, and other parts of the world in order to provide these poor children with the treatment they desperately need. Since 1991, we have sent nearly 900 children abroad for cost-free care that this not available to them in their home country.
In addition to locating expert surgical for these sick and injured children abroad, the PCRF is also responsible for finding safe housing for these children during their care abroad. All of the children that are sent abroad for free treatment are placed with a local host families to help care for them during their treatment. These are volunteers from the local community that care for these children’s daily needs and provide them with support and a healing home environment that is necessary to move these children towards a successful recovery. We have hundreds of volunteers throughout the country that have opened their homes to an injured youth and we hope that this number continues to grow.
