American Hand Surgery Team Volunteer in Ramallah

This week, a three-member team of volunteers from the USA are in the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah providing hand surgery for patients and training for local doctors. Led by long-time volunteer hand surgeon from Texas, Dr. Jose J. Monsivais, and including anesthesiologist Dr. Kevin Healy, who has been on nearly two-dozen missions with the PCRF and first-time volunteer and OR nurse Jean Ross from California, the team are helping to support the continued development of Dr. Abdelrahman Marridi, the local hand surgeon who PCRF sent for a one-year fellowship last year in India. The goal of the PCRF is to build up sustainable programs in the public health sector in Palestine for better patient care within the government health sector.
