Three months after arriving to the USA, 14-year-old Ameer Khanfar returned home to Nablus after recovering from complicated and risky back surgery in Dallas, Texas. He was diagnosed with severe congenital scoliosis and had fusion surgery at the age of five. He needed a second surgery six months later to remove the rods due to an infection. Unable to get the treatment he needed locally he traveled with his mom to Dallas, where he received treatment at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. Dr. Charles Johnston, who has led several volunteer missions to Palestine through the PCRF, treated Ameer returned. We send special thanks to all those from the community and particularly from our PCRF Dallas chapter who not only hosted them but cared for Amir and helped him to heal.
