This week, a three-member volunteer surgery team from Santiago, Chile arrived in the West Bank town of Bethlahem to start a mission providing urological and pediatric surgery for children in need. Led by urological and oncological surgeon Prof. Francisco Ossandon, and including pediatric surgeon Dr. Maria Consuelo Sierralta and anesthesiologist Dr. Haydee Osses, the team are working in Beit Jala Hospital, where the PCRF built and opened the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department in 2013. Prof. Ossandon has led several past missions for the PCRF and also treated patients sent to Child through the PCRF. Chile provides the second most number of missions to Palestine to treat patients.
