Five-year-old Tayyem Daher from Gaza was born with a vascular lesion on the left side of his face, which could not be treated in Palestine. Two months ago he went to Chicago for specialized surgery. This week, he met again with the doctors who came forward to treat him as a charity case, plastic surgeon Dr. Arun Gosain, who performed the surgery, and Dr. Ali Shaibani, the vascular surgeon who treated him through sclerotherapy. He traveled to Chicago with his mom and had this much-needed treatment at The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. As he prepares to complete his treatment and return home the PCRF would like to thank all those involved in his care, including the doctors, the hospital, the hosting family, and the PCRF Chicago chapter for helping to support him while he received this care.
