Gazan Boy's First Time Walking Independently
Gazan Boy's First Time Walking Independently

Update:

Earlier this month twelve-year old Abdelrahman from South Gaza took his new lower limb prosthetic home to test the fit. This week he received his final prosthetic from Yankee Bionics in Ohio, Abdelrahman will be returning home soon walking independently. Abdelrahman suffered a gun shot wound to his left leg during The Great March of Return earlier this year. He underwent an amputation locally and traveled to Cleveland this year to be fitted with a prosthesis. Abdelrahman has been completing physical therapy appointments to gain strength and comfortability with his new prosthetic leg. PCRF is grateful to the Cleveland community volunteers who have been assisting Abdelrahman in his care.

During late August, 11-year-old Abdelrahman from Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the Gaza Strip arrived in Ohio to start prosthetic care in Akron, Ohio. Abdelrahman was shot in the leg in April and suffered an amputation of his left leg. Yanke Bionics has provided him the care he needs to walk again on a charitable basis. Yanke Bionics is the first company to treat an injured Palestinian child, helping a 10-year-old double amputee in 1990. Abdelrahman is supported by volunteers in our Cleveland and Kent State chapters.
