Injured Gazan Boy Has Surgery in Boston

Sixteen-year-old Waad Alzaery had surgery on May 16 through the support of the PCRF after he lost his leg to a sniper on the Gaza border in 2015. He originally traveled to Boston to be fitted for a prosthetic leg, which received two months ago. He soon was suffering from pain in his amputated limb and needed stump revision surgery. The PCRF was able to arrange for him an operation at the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, where Dr. Matthew Carty operated on him. prosthetic once he is healed. Waad is being cared for by volunteers in the PCRF Boston chapter, who have provided all of his social needs.
