PCRF names Dr. Samer Elbabaa as the new interim President of our Medical Advisory Board

We are proud to announce the appointment as the interim President of our Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Samer Elbabaa. He is taking over for long-time President Dr. Khaled Abughazaleh. We thank Dr. Abughazaleh for his many years of leadership, hard work, and service. The Medical Advisory Board was set up nearly twenty years ago. It consists currently of ninety international volunteer doctors who guide PCRF to ensure that our programs and projects are focused most effectively and efficiently on improving patient care, developing specializations, and reducing referrals outside of the sector.  These are all doctors and nurses who have first-hand experience volunteering on the ground for PCRF.

Dr. Samer K. Elbabaa is a board-certified pediatric neurosurgeon who serves as the Leon Pediatric Neuroscience Center of Excellence director at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He also serves as chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida, and Professor of Neurosurgery at UCF College of Medicine.

Dr. Elbabaa led a surgery mission to Nablus last month, where he also visited our new PICU and pediatric cardiology departments at PMC and with the neurosurgery team there. We thank him for his leadership and service in helping improve the health sector in Palestine.
