Wheelchair Shipments Arrive in Jordan for Refugee Children

This week, the PCRF started it's biggest humanitarian project in Jordan, distributing hundreds of high-quality wheelchairs for poor and needy Jordanian children as well as refugees from Palestine and Syria. The PCRF in the past has distributed thousands of these pediatric wheelchairs in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria, but this is our first shipment to Jordan. We are partnering with the King Hussein Foundation to clear the shipments, while Tamweelcom donated the premises in Amman for our distribution. In addition, Development Medical Supplies Co. Ltd (DMS) donated a warehouse to store our wheelchairs, and the Islamic Society Centre in Mafraq donated premises for the distribution in the North. Our partner the Landmark Hotel in Amman is providing accommodations for the volunteers. The chairs are through Hope Haven International, an American charity who we have worked with to ship thousands of quality chairs in the past to the Middle East, while two American volunteers - Greg Skolaski and Tom Glumac - are giving their time and expertise again to fit children with the right chair and help train local therapists in following up our kids. The PCRF Amman chapter is also volunteering to help in the distribution. We are honored to help any child in Jordan get the chairs that they need, regardless of their religion, nationality or creed. -
