The One-Time Sponsorship (OTS) Surgical Sponsorship Program is crafted to support local public healthcare systems by delivering critical surgical procedures that often face substantial delays within these systems. Prolonged waiting times and operational challenges frequently leave patients—particularly refugees—struggling to access timely public healthcare services for essential surgeries. This program seeks to provide surgical care to those who, due to financial barriers, might otherwise have little to no opportunity to receive these life-changing medical treatments.
Since 2024, this essential program has supported over 1,020 cases, funding surgeries across a range of specialties, including pediatric general surgery, urology, orthopedics, and numerous other fields. Through this program, we also identify opportunities to enhance local healthcare systems, contributing to more sustainable, long-term improvements.
