
Dr. Imad Tamimi, DMD, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is a highly accomplished and board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, New Jersey, and is the Chief of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jersey City Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Tamimi holds the role of Interim President of the Medical Advisory Board for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization dedicated to providing specialized medical care for children in need.
Dr. Tamimi earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), followed by a General Practice Residency (GPR) at Jersey City Medical Center. He completed a one-year fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, further honing his expertise through specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Seton Hall University/Jersey City Medical Center. His distinguished career has been driven by a deep commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate patient care.
In addition to his current leadership roles, Dr. Tamimi has previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He led a successful private practice specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Binghamton, New York, and continues to practice in Clifton, New Jersey. He maintains active affiliations with University Hospital, Jersey City Medical Center, and St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Tamimi’s clinical achievements have been recognized through numerous awards, including the prestigious "Attending of the Year" honor at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, in 2014. His international experience includes serving as Section Head and Consultant for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he held joint appointments in the Departments of Dentistry and Surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tamimi has held key leadership positions, including Vice President of Broome County Dental Society and President of the Jordanian Dental Implant Group. He has also been a valued member of the editorial team at Smile Dental Magazine. A sought-after speaker, Dr. Tamimi has lectured at national and international conferences on topics related to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has directed numerous educational courses.
His commitment to humanitarian work is evident in his participation in multiple medical missions aimed at providing care to underserved populations. Dr. Tamimi remains deeply involved in the training of oral surgery.
