The orphan crisis in Gaza has reached an unprecedented scale, with thousands of children orphaned since October 2023. Many have lost both parents, while others are displaced and struggling to survive, moving between relatives, neighbors, or shelters. Some of these children have lost all surviving family members, leaving them in desperate need of lifelong care and specialized support.

Before the latest escalation, PCRF was sponsoring around 720 orphans from the 2014 attacks on Gaza. However, as war and displacement severed communication, many of these children were temporarily unreachable. Over time, PCRF has reestablished contact with some while also expanding its support to 1,540 newly orphaned children, bringing the total to 2,160 orphans receiving direct aid—including 10 in Lebanon.

How PCRF is Responding

PCRF is on the ground, delivering urgent aid to orphaned children—ensuring they receive food, clothing, medical care, and psychosocial support. We are working both independently and in collaboration with trusted local and international partners to maximize our impact. Beyond immediate aid, we are committed to long-term solutions that ensure protection, stability, and psychological recovery for orphaned children.
