On September 9 and 10th, PCRF, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Palestinian Neurosurgical Society, sponsored the first Palestinian Congress of Neurosurgery in Ramallah. The conference brought together neurosurgeons from all over Palestine except Gaza, as they were not permitted to travel. It also included international neurosurgical experts to share their scientific experience to help improve the quality of patient care. The conference included several volunteer neurosurgeons from the USA, including Samer Elbabaa, a pediatric Neurosurgeon from Orlando, Florida, the president of PCRF‘s medical advisory board, the President of the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, Dr. Rick Boop, California surgeon Dr. Burak Ozgur, pediatric brain tumor specialist from Boston Children’s Hospital Dr. Lissa Baird, and neurosurgeon Dr. Ahmad Khalid from Atlanta, GA. PCRF is dedicated to helping train and develop the public Palestinian health sector to improve patient care quality and reduce patient referrals.
