Gaza Mental Health: Supporting Children in Coping with Bullying

This week, our Gaza mental health team took a proactive step in addressing one of the most formidable psychological challenges faced by our children, particularly those who have experienced limb loss due to congenital deformities or accidents. As the new school year begins and children embark on their learning journey, they often find themselves vulnerable to bullying, teasing, and stares from their peers. These experiences can evoke a profound sense of sadness, isolation, and, in some cases, lead to school avoidance or even aggressive responses. In addressing these critical issues, our committed mental health team organized a session with the primary objective of providing children with valuable strategies to navigate interactions with their new classmates. The team focused on equipping them with tools to manage negative emotions, foster adaptability, and promote acceptance within their school environment.
