PCRF is rebuilding the Dr. Musa and Suhaila Nasir Pediatric Cancer Department, the only pediatric oncology unit in Gaza, after extensive war damage. With no local treatment options available, children with cancer have been facing life-threatening delays.
The first phase focused on clearing rubble, repairing the department, installing generators for power stability, and restoring vital systems—a critical first step in bringing lifesaving care back to Gaza’s most vulnerable children.
PCRF remains committed to the restoration of all essential services, including the establishment of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Pediatric Admission and Isolation Ward, and a Healing Garden in the hospital’s backyard. These efforts are part of our mission to fully restore the Pediatric Specialized Hospital, ensuring that children receive the urgent care they need.
Opened in February 2019, the Dr. Musa and Suhaila Nasir Pediatric Cancer Department was the first and only public facility of its kind in Gaza. It included 16 inpatient rooms, 14 outpatient beds, a playroom, lab, pharmacy, and other vital amenities. Before its establishment, children with cancer had to travel abroad for treatment, often separated from their families.
With the generous support of donors and partners, especially the Chicago Chapter, we are reviving hope and healing for countless families in Gaza.
