The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) has resumed restoration work on the Operations Department at Al-Aqsa Hospital in the central Gaza Strip, following the recent ceasefire. The project, which began before the outbreak of war on October 7, 2023, was halted due to the war and has now restarted immediately to provide critical surgical care to Gaza’s residents.
The restoration project involves repairing three main operating rooms and creating a fourth, aiming to enhance medical services at Al-Aqsa Hospital, the only public hospital serving central Gaza. Despite severe challenges, including material shortages, high costs, and logistical difficulties in transporting supplies from northern to central Gaza, PCRF remains committed to completing the project as quickly as possible.
The renovation of the Operations Department will significantly improve healthcare access, providing life-saving surgical services to thousands of citizens affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. This project is a testament to PCRF’s resilience and dedication to supporting Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure, even under extraordinary circumstances.
Al-Aqsa Hospital, which plays a vital role in treating the injured and sick, is expected to reopen its operations department soon, bringing hope and healing to central Gaza’s population.
