Fourteen-year-old Manar Asafra from the West Bank town of Hebron sustained a trauma injury to her eye while playing with her sister in 2009. She lost vision in her left eye and was sent this week by the PCRF to northern California, where she will soon begin treatment under the care of Dr. Stuart Seiff and Dr. Ali Zaidi at the Pacific Eye Associates. She will be measured and fitted with a scleral shell prosthetic eye. Manar is being hosted by our PCRF Bay Area chapter, who have cared for many children from the Middle East in the past.
