In April of 2017, the Souther California Chapter received word rhat a youg girl from Hebron would be coming to Shriner's Hospital in Los Angeles for treatment on her legs, which required extensive surgery. The chapter sent out an urgent request for a host family who could help her recover from surgery, and assist with her physical therapy. The Mohammed family accepted with open arms. The whole family chipped in to help Toqa, and even did group family physical therapy exercises. Along with helping toqa with day to day needs such as changing her dressings, showeringm and assistance at doctor's visit., the family put together a large outdoor birthday party to honor Toqa, and bring the community together. Their willingness to help, and compassion for Toqa through all phases of her recovery was heartwarming, and indeed deserves recognition.
