Maxillofacial Team Moves to Lebanon

This week, a four-member team of doctors moved their mission from Jordan to Lebanon to provide maxillofacial surgery on Syrian and Palestinian refugees. Working in the PRCS hospital Al Hamshiry, the team are mainly providing cleft lip and palate operations for children with facial deformities. The team is lead by PCRF Chairman of the board Dr. Khaled Abughazaleh, and included long-time volunteer from Ecuador Prof. Raul Fernando Sandoval and returning surgical volunteer from Mexico, Dr. Raymundo Ramirez. Also joining the team from Chicago is anesthesiologist Dr. Yaser Wafai, who has been on several past missions with the PCRF.

The PCRF is cooperating with Smile Train to support this type of operation for children in the Middle East and has provided thousands of kids corrective surgery over the past years.
