In light of the worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) continues to deliver vital mental health support to families affected by the ongoing war that began on October 7, 2023. PCRF’s Mental Health Team operates in displacement shelters across northern, central, and southern Gaza, offering psychological assistance to those who have lost loved ones, suffered injuries, or lost their homes.
These sessions, held inside temporary tents and shelters, are designed to help families cope with grief, trauma, and emotional distress. Special attention is given to creating safe, compassionate spaces where children and parents can express their feelings and begin the healing process.
As daily life remains unstable and emotionally overwhelming for many, these family-based mental health interventions aim to reduce psychological suffering and promote resilience within displaced communities. PCRF remains committed to ensuring that mental health is recognized and treated as a critical part of humanitarian response—especially for children and families experiencing the lasting effects of war.
