Dr. Adil Husain, an ICU physician from the U.S. who is the head of the pediatric cardiac surgery committee on the PCRF medical advisory board and his volunteer team consisting of doctors and nurses, traveled from the USA to Gaza in September 2022. The team operated on the hearts of children aged six months to 12 years old who cannot get care locally due to the lack of specialized pediatric cardiac surgery in Gaza, and the closure of Gaza's borders. "And so, it's very satisfying because you're able to address what we would deem as fairly straightforward medical problems, but for them, are very complex because of a lack of access. So, we can really change a lot of lives in a short amount of times" says Dr. Husain in this interview on KSTU news in Salt Lake City, where he works, on October 19, 2022.
