This is Roze, a courageous 7-year-old girl from Al Aroob camp in Hebron, who has been bravely battling leukemia for the past six months at the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department. Despite the challenges of her treatment, Roze continues to pursue her education through PCRF’s tutoring project at the department.

Today, Roze celebrated a remarkable achievement—she received her school certificate with outstanding marks, a testament to her resilience, determination, and the unwavering support she receives both medically and academically.

About the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department

The Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department, located at Beit Jala Hospital near Bethlehem, is the first and only public department for children with cancer in Palestine. It was established in memory of Huda Al Masri, PCRF’s founding head social worker, who passed away from leukemia in 2009. Since opening in 2013, the department has provided life-saving treatment to children like Roze, offering specialized cancer care closer to home.

PCRF continues to support the department by providing staff training and development, organizing medical missions to enhance the quality of care, and offering facility support while addressing the medical and social needs of young patients.

Roze’s story reflects the powerful impact of Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department in offering not just medical care but also educational and emotional support to children fighting cancer.
