12-year-old Ahmad Jassem from Deyr Al Zour in Syria was sponsored for ophthalmic surgery for the left eye by Dr. Chadi Awwad at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. This is part of the PCRF's "One-Time Sponsorship" project to identify children in need of care that they cannot get locally, regardless of politics or religion. Hundreds of Syrian refugees are treated annually by the PCRF through this program.
