Teen Walking After Several Surgeries in Tampa
Teen Walking After Several Surgeries in Tampa

18-year-old Qais Doudin from the West Bank town of Hebron was born with a congenital deformity in both legs. The PCRF sent him to Tampa nearly a year ago, where he underwent multiple surgeries on both his legs, including an amputation on his left leg. He was fitted with a prosthetic leg and had multiple surgical procedures on his right leg. Thanks to the Shriners Hospital in Tampa, Dr. Maureen Maciel, who cared for him, our amazing host family, and our PCRF Tampa chapter Qais is now able to walk better than ever before. He has one final appointment later this month and will then be ready to return to his home and family in Palestine. We are proud and honored to do this work.
