Child Injured in Gaza Shelter Attack Receiving Care at Shriners Hospital

MyFox8: Adam Abuajwa, an 11-year-old Palestinian boy, arrived in Greenville, S.C., on Sunday night to receive orthopedic care at Shriners Hospital, facilitated by the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).

Adam was living with his mother and two siblings in a Gaza shelter when it was bombed by a grenade and a rocket on January 16. Tragically, his mother and brother were killed, and Adam was severely injured. His sister, Zeina, was also wounded. While receiving care at Nasser Medical Complex, Adam’s treatment was disrupted when the hospital was sieged by Israeli troops.

Thanks to PCRF, Adam and Zeina were evacuated to the United States, where he can now access life-saving orthopedic care. He is one of four Palestinian children recently brought to the U.S. for urgent medical treatment at hospitals across the country.
