Saturday, April 20th was a special day for our PCRF-Italy chapter. The associates gathered for the annual meeting of the association, which was opened with a speech by President Vincenzo "Stefano" Luisi. In addition to the administrative activities - the approval of the budget and the new associates - we then listened to the voice of some of our collaborators, Angelo Stefanini and Patrizia Cecconi, who made a valuable account of the health and political situation in the Gaza Strip. Also, we had the honor of having Vivian Khalaf, Chairman of the PCRF board of directors, who briefed us through PCRF’s activities in these difficult months, both in Gaza and the West Bank, also introducing us to the plans for the near future. The evening ended at the Olive Theater in Camaiore, where Maldoriente was staged, a fundraising event for PCRF-Italy. The show, by and starring Serena Gatti and inspired by Suad Amiry’s novels, was a journey through the daily lives of Palestinians and the great little inconveniences of living in an occupied country, from the freedom of movement to obtaining an ID card. Opening the evening was a message from Moni Ovadia, who urged us to bravely carry forward our cause in support of the Palestinian people. Thanks to all those who supported us in the organisation of this event: Comune di Camaiore which contributed and was present at theatre; ARCI Lucca Versilia and Cro Darsene 1945 of Viareggio. A heartfelt thank you to all those who participated in this evening that was very important to us. It wasn’t just a night at the theatre, but a way to actively contribute to relief efforts in the Gaza Strip. A way to be present where needed, together.
