This week, an American pediatric orthopedic team led by Dr. Anna Vergun from North Carolina completed a volunteer surgery mission and training trip to the Gaza Strip. They operated on children with orthopedic deformities, as well as kids with bombings and gunshot injuries at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Joining her were Dr. James Wright and the Anesthesiologist Dr. Kevin Healy, as well as Ramallah surgeon Dr. Diyyaa Abu Shihab, who has been trained over the past few years in the West Bank.
