This week, the PCRF's British Palliative Care Team presented an advanced diploma to medical students at the Islamic University, which includes theoretical and clinical lectures at the Turkish Hospital south of Gaza City.
The team includes palliative care experts Dr. Mhoira Leng, Dr. James Martin Leiper, and Rachel Jane Coghlan, who have volunteered with PCRF for years to develop this important specialty in the Gaza Strip by training doctors, nurses, and medical students.
Palliative care is an interdisciplinary medical caregiving approach aimed at optimizing the quality of life and mitigating suffering among people with serious, complex, often terminal illnesses and any other diseases.
