Child Life Skills in our Department Help Patients Learn New Skills

Providing children who are fighting cancer in Gaza child-life activities while they undergo difficult medical care is an important part of their treatment.  This week, 7-year-old Saja from Rafah on the Egyptian border, while being treated for leukemia, helped to make "basbosa" and helped our social workers in preparing it from semolina, coconut and yogurt. She then helped to distribute this to other kids being treated in the department.  Thanks to our supporters all over the world, who enable us to have a Child-Life program in our two cancer departments to help patients learn developmental skills and participate in activities like any normal Palestinian child.
