This week, Dr. Ihab Halaweish, Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery from Ohio State University College of Medicine, returned to Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip to begin the volunteer medical mission to help children requiring pediatric surgery. Dr. Halawish was joined by anesthesiologists Dr. Mark Reed, Dr. Salman Dasti, and OR nurse Christie Jucht. This is Dr. Halwish’s second volunteer mission to Gaza with PCRF in the past twelve months, as last summer, he led an assessment trip for our pediatric surgery committee on our Medical Advisory Board.
