This week, the prominent transplant surgeon from Jordan, Dr. Walid Massoud, crossed into Gaza to begin building a kidney transplant program for patients in the besieged Strip at Shifa Hospital. While Dr. Massoud has volunteered with the PCRF in the past, and is a member of our medical advisory board, this is the start of a new program that will train local doctors and provide care for patients who no longer have to travel abroad for treatment. Four patients are scheduled for transplants this week by Dr. Massoud.
