We are thankful to announce that on Sunday, March 10th, the PCRF Chicago chapter welcomed two injured children from Gaza. They arrived safely in Chicago to begin their journey of medical treatment in the US. Two-year-old Jood’s life changed forever on December 26th when his family’s home was bombed. He lost his mother and endured a devastating injury. Many remember him from a photo shared by Palestinian journalist Motaz Azaiza He will be receiving orthopedic surgery in Chicago.
Thirteen-year-old Ayham suffered a severely fractured leg, and his family was displaced, in December 2023, when a neighbor’s house was bombed. The explosion sent debris crashing into Ayham’s home, causing his injury, and tragically killing 78 people. Ayham will continue on to Greenville, South Carolina, to begin his treatment. Their journeys are a testament to resilience and hope. PCRF continues to support Gaza relief efforts including arranging treatment for children abroad.
We thank our Chicago volunteers and supporters who helped us welcome Jood and Ayham as they arrived at O’Hare Airport.
