From 14 to 28 July 2026, PCRF deployed Emergency Medical Mission #29 to Gaza, bringing specialized medical expertise in ophthalmology and general surgery. Led by Dr. Salmaan Qureshi, Ophthalmology, and Dr. Yassar Qureshi, General Surgery, the mission provided care at Nasser Medical Complex in southern Gaza Strip and the Eye Hospitals in Gaza City. During the mission, the volunteer medical team screened 243 patients and performed 26 specialized surgeries, providing care to a diverse group of pediatric and adult patients facing complex health challenges, including cancer cases with advanced complications, trauma injuries, blast injuries, and severe burns. The team also witnessed the impact of shortages in essential medicines, medical supplies, and specialized equipment, which continue to limit access to care. Through their dedication and expertise, Dr. Salmaan and Dr. Yassar provided much-needed treatment, eased suffering, and brought hope to children, adults, and families during an incredibly difficult time.
