After nearly two years of dedicated work, the PCRF expansion project of the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department at Beit Jala Governmental Hospital has reached an important milestone, successfully completing the construction phase. This project establishes the first public Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Bethlehem, capable of serving children across the southern West Bank, while also enhancing care for critical cases such as bone marrow transplants and monthly follow-ups. The expansion allows children admitted to the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department to receive lifesaving treatment closer to home, in a child-friendly and supportive environment. While medical equipment installation will continue in the next stage, the project’s handover, attended by PCRF’s Project Management team, the Ministry of Health, and hospital leadership, represents a significant step forward in providing healing and hope for thousands of children and families in an area where healthcare resources are often stretched.
