Last month, PCRF brought Al Amal Summer Camp to the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department at Beit Jala Hospital in the West Bank, giving children a space to play, connect, and simply enjoy being children while undergoing treatment. It is part of our commitment to providing holistic cancer care—from specialised chemotherapy and medical treatment to physiotherapy, academic tutoring, and recreational activities that support children’s wellbeing throughout their cancer treatment journey. In August, the department provided 16 inpatient admissions, 233 outpatient consultations, 18 medical tests, 10 physiotherapy sessions, and 62 supportive activities. Unfortunately this level of cancer care is no longer available in Gaza. However, PCRF continues working to restore what is possible—including stabilisation and supportive care, rebuilding essential cancer-care infrastructure, and supporting children awaiting evacuation for treatment abroad.
