Rebuilding Hope: PCRF Mental Health Team Supports Children After Devastating Home Loss

Mahmoud, a 5-year-old from Gaza City, is among the children profoundly impacted by the recent conflict in Gaza. After the bombing destroyed his family's house, the PCRF Mental Health Team is working with Mahmoud and his sister Shafa to help them recover from the trauma. Mahmoud exhibits signs of post-traumatic stress disorder, marked by the lingering effects of his traumatic experiences. He displays a strong emotional bond with his parents, and his sister, Shafa, also grapples with feelings of fear, anxiety, and tension. Both Mahmoud and Shafa require ongoing treatment, primarily through Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) sessions, which aim to address and alleviate the traumatic effects they have experienced due to violence.
