Solar power provided for Chronically suffering children in Gaza

Today PCRF is working with Mayet Al Ahel company to provide chronically ill children in central Gaza solar power to ensure their continued access to electricity to provide them medical relief.  Gaza has suffered for years from only 3-4 hours of electricity a day, putting many families at risk.   This week, the PCRF provided a solar panel system to Abu Zahir family, who have four children suffering from Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a group of rare genetic conditions that result in easy blistering of the skin and mucous membranes. Blisters occur with minor trauma or friction and are painful. Its severity can range from mild to fatal. They need constant ventilation and care to prevent blistering and infection. For 3-year-old Hamza, 7-year-old Ibrahim and 8-year-old Doha, the constant electricity shortage in the summer is very painful and dangerous for them. The solar power gives them constant ventilation and lighting to take care of their chronic disease.
