In October, PCRF sent Dr. Ben Miller, an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Iowa and a pediatric oncological surgeon, to the West Bank and Gaza Strip to do a needs assessment to begin building an orthopedic oncology program. Currently, no such program exists in Palestine, and Dr. Miller, a member of PCRF's Medical Advisory Board, will lead the process of setting up a program to treat patients with bone cancer.
