Eight-week-old Mohammed, a Syrian refugee who lives in a tent with his family of ten in Jordan, was born with a congenital heart defect. Last week, he underwent an emergency open-heart surgery through the PCRF One-Time-Surgery Sponsorship Program at The Specialty Hospital in Ammann, Jordan. Mohammed's surgery was successful, and he is in good condition. Each week our field and social workers identify poor children who need surgery in Lebanon's refugee camps and Jordan. Due to poverty, these children have no access to medical care and treatment. PCRF works with local hospitals to obtain reduced rates and excellent care for our children to improve their quality of life and to save their life. Thanks to our weekly donors, hundreds of children have had life-saving medical sponsorship through this program.
