Tali's Journey to Healing Through The Gaza Pediatric Mental Health Program

Tali, a ten-year-old girl from the northern Gaza Strip, faced a daunting challenge when severe pain in her right leg led to a diagnosis of bone cancer. Her family situation, marked by her parents' divorce, added to her emotional burden. Tali's distress manifested in agitation and violence, hindering her medical care at the Dr. Musa and Suhaila Nasir Pediatric Cancer Department. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the PCRF mental health team intervened. Tali received drug therapy and psychotherapy from a compassionate psychiatrist. These interventions had a positive impact on her emotional state, calming her agitation and nervousness.

Tali's story is a testament to human resilience. Despite adversity, with the support of the PCRF mental health team, her medical caregivers, and therapy, she embarked on a courageous journey towards recovery, offering hope for a brighter future.
