The Third Al-Qudra Summer Camp For Amputees Begins In Gaza

PCRF launched the third annual Al-Qudra camp for 110 amputee children from all over the Gaza Strip. The children lost limbs due to wars, return marches, congenital deformities, and other medical diagnoses. Inside the camp, children enjoy cultural activities to learn about the world, recreational activities including sports and artistic corners, and mental health sessions. The children also got a medical follow-up on their prosthetics, with the presence of the American prosthetics expert Ramona Okumura, in coordination with Hamad Hospital in Gaza. PCRF implemented the amputee camp after studying all the therapeutic, recreational, and cultural activities offered. The project gives children the confidence to accomplish anything regardless of their disability and helps integrate them into the local community. PCRF started the summer camp for amputee children in 2019, during which it enhanced the children’s self-confidence and highlighted their capabilities to the community and the world.
